High-res Every year, the Widmer Brothers brew a little something special. Last year it was an imperial stout and this year we have a dark saison. Like many Belgian style beers, the W’12 has a big yeasty nose, sweet and fruity. It’s got a nice tart flavor with some grassy, herbal notes. You can taste the brown malts, sort of nutty. The finish is pretty dry refreshing with some lingering yeast. This should definitely be enjoyed from a glass. I had one at my sister’s place over the weekend straight from the bottle and I couldn’t appreciate the flavors at all. At all. I need to start packing my tulip glass around with me.
