It’s national wine day. I’m sure every third day is some sort of bullshit food day, but I am celebrating this one wholeheartedly. Sarah collected a few bottles last week so I’m sharing this white blend from Brooks winery. It’s called Amycas and is a blend of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Muscat, and Reisling. Sarah loves German varieties and sweeter wines. I am intrigued by drier wines. I think this is a nice middle ground. The scent reminds me of lemons in wine. The taste is lemony, with a hint of minerals, like licking a rock or chewing gravel. I need to drink more wine, or read more wine reviews. Sarah likes it, she says it has a nice acidity against a sweet background.
