Oude Kriek Vieille is made in Beersel just outside of Brussels, home of Sarah’s favorite brewery, Cantillon. As soon as I popped the cork I knew it was the real deal. The scent is all cereal grains. A hint of sour cherry is there, but it’s subtle. The kriek starts out super acidic, from there it gets grainy with a light, dry cherry flavor. The finish is dry like a mouthful of flour with a hint of wood. Sarah says, it’s nice.
